Never A Dull Moment

Well, things went smoothly with getting our drivers licenses validated. All set to get our Korean ones soon. (And buy a car!)

But I want to tell you about our house...

Wednesday was a day like any other day. We went to school. We taught camp. We stayed until 4:30. Actually we stayed a little later because we had stuff to do. Then we walked home together.

It was kind of strange when we got to our apartment building. When the elevator opened on our floor, a lady had a dust pan and a bucket and was scooping water off the floor. It was kind of strange. And there was almost 2 inches of water on the floor. Then we came around the corner and she started talking to us in Korea. We opened our door to find our entry way FLOODED! I mean like shoes floating there was so much water! We immediately found a dry spot to put our stuff down and called John's co-teacher.

Our entryway, and half of our apartment had LOTS of standing water. Thankfully we didn't have anything really important like computers or anything on the floor in those areas!!!  Apparently what we know so far is that the water pump in our apartment malfunctioned and it sprayed water out without the faucets being turned on. Thank goodness it wasn't our fault!!!
It damaged our hot water heater (which was promptly fixed. Thank goodness) and for some reason our washing machine won't turn on.... we have yet to figure out exactly what went wrong there....

Anyway, we got all the water cleaned up and things dried out. No real damage, and it's not our fault, so as far as we know we don't have to pay. Just another fun-filled day in the Harrison House!
